Hello and welcome to www.tritonccsd.com. For those of you who may not know, TRITON is a mixed martial arts style. We call it TRITON because of our love for the Ocean and its incredible strength. We have combined various techniques of other effective martial arts into a more complete martial art. This is not saying that some styles are lacking in greatness. It is just a way of mixing the best attributes from many good styles. For example, you will hardly find any ground defense in martial arts such Karate, Tae Kwon Do, or old Marine Corps LINE Training. So what happens if you are wrestled to the ground? You are in a whole lot of trouble now. So, by filling in the gaps of Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Marine Corps LINE Training with JuJitsu, Greco-Roman Wrestling, and Marine Corps Martial Arts, we arrive at a more complete martial art, TRITON Close Combat & Self-Defense. TRITON CC&SD is the martial art founded by a married couple, Piet Wilhelm and Summer Krause-Wilhelm, after many years of training under numerous martial artists. This school began in South Carolina while the couple was stationed with the Marines as Drill Instructors aboard Parris Island Recruit Depot in October of 2002 and is still actively in service, but in a new location due to military relocation. This school is not only operated by one black belt under The American Federation of JuJitsu, but by two proficient black belt instructors.
Even though we like to consider all of our students friends and family, TRITON is a family owned and operated business located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a mixed martial arts school, which teaches a mixture of Boxing, Kickboxing, Karate, JuJitsu, Greco-Roman Wrestling, and Marine Corps Martial Arts. As a mixed martial arts school, we appreciate the benefits of learning for competition, but also see the realistic need for self-defense for men, women, and children. Therefore, we present our techniques in a realistic and easy-to-learn method.
