I started training at Triton in September of 2004. I was introduced to Piet and Summer by my husband, Joe. Joe is a Marine that trained with Piet in Broken Arrow. Prior to joining this group I had never taken any kind of marital arts instruction and was completely unsure of how to handle myself if confronted with physical conflict. Initially the concepts of mixed martial arts were very foreign to me and it seemed I would never grasp the complexities of the techniques. During the first few months I was able to refine some of the basic skills and gain some confidence. Of course the friendly atmosphere and the willingness of the more experienced students helped tremendously.
In January I started the police academy and eventually began to learn defensive tactics that I would later employ while working in the field. My training at Triton provided a strong basis for the additional training I received in the academy and a place to practice everything I learned. The Triton group helped me achieve the dream of becoming an officer.
Triton continues to help me refine my abilities and
keep me in top physical condition. Triton also
provides an exciting atmosphere where I can develop
strong friendships and continue to make myself a
valuable asset in the service of the public. The
personal guidance that Piet and Summer provide allows
Triton to stand out above the rest. Thanks, Stephanie Blann |
