This is a brief outline of the requirements to achieve this promotion. A more detailed curriculum is available at our school.
Purple is the beginning of the elite ranks! A purple Belt has a more expansive arsenal than the Blue belt along with better timing and sensitivity. They have more options per position and have developed a more personal game. Purple belts should have a better working knowledge of all positions and the theories behind Jiu-Jitsu. At this level, no outstanding weakness in technique in any position i.e. inability to escape mount or side.
* Purple Belts should begin teaching to help further their own development.
* Testing for this will be conducted at the semi-annual Renato Tavares seminar or by private appointment.
